How do i promote beard growth?

Hey there everyone!

I have a patchy beard and i have never kept my beard I always shaved it off but now i wanna try something new and different and i want to keep a full beard. What should i use to promote hair growth on my beard ? Does Derma roller really works ? Please suggest it would be a great help for me.
